W2K detects only 130GB of a 300GB Maxtor

I installed a Maxtor 5400 rpm 300GB hdd into a P4-2.8hz system.  When I brought it up and went to computer management to create one large partition I found that the system only recognized 130GB for the 300GB drive.  Anyone have any ideas what I need to do to get the whole 300GB recognized?  The system is built around an Intel D865GBFL motherboard.  Any thoughts would be appreciated!
