Even if you manage to get past that one, the next step will be to fill in 
the XP licence No---and there's no way you'll get around that without the 
keyboard.

Get back to us once you've eliminated the possibility that the keyboard 
connection is bad. It could be in the connecting cord. Test first with 
another known good keyboard or if Kenneth's suggestions re BIOS don't work.

How old is the computer?

Do you have any dos emergency boot floppies? That's one way of checking 
whether the keyboard itself is working.
