Hi Emie, this is purely a guess, but I'm wondering if your suggestion to
reboot the pc after gaming playing for an hour or two which solves it, could
mean that it is a memory issue?
I use a p2 system for burning, with only 128mb ram, and I have to reboot it
in between burning each disk or it will only burn halfway through the next
one and I end up with a wasted cd. If I do that, it's fine.
In my case, it's a memory issue, but I'm sure gaming would use alot of ram,
wouldn't it? This might not be the case with your customer, but worth
considering I think.
I used to use a small free program called Rambooster which cleared alot of
the ram for me and so I didn't have to restart everytime, but I don't have
it installed now, and I don't mind restarting. Like I said, this may not be
your problem at all though.

A system uses a USB printer (Lexmark X73) and a USB Game Joystick (for car
racing games). Customer complained that after their son plays game for an
hour or 2 on the computer, the system sems confused and sometimes fails to
recognize the printer. My advise to reboot everytime after the games seems
to solve the problem. However, the customer has no patience for this
routine.

Trying to find out the root of the problem my question is, "Do USB game
accessories interfer with other USB program operations, like printing
through MS Word?" Is this some sort of a USB port conflict? Printer and
Joystick are using the USB connections on the back of computer. Any idea
will be greatly appreciated.

P4-2.4GHz, WinXP-Home, 512 MB RAM, 80 Gig HD, ASUS P4X Series mobo using AGP
2,0 video card.
