Laurel,
Here is how I personally would go
about this ;
First open Control Panel, double click
on System, click on the Hardware tab,
Then Device Manager. Now click on
Mouse or Mice and other pointing
devices, you will now see if
There is a touchpad listed. If one is
listed you now know which one is
installed.
Double click on the listed touchpad
(if one is there) and you will see
several tabs to check driver, update
driver,
Roll back to original driver.
At this point, I would again look at
mouse in Control Panel for settings of
the pointing device you found.
If there is no device listed, download
the driver for the model you found
closest to yours (maybe call Toshiba
support for info)
After the driver is installed you can
always do a rollback or system restore
in case of problems.
HTH and let us know how you make out,
Hal Seabolt

Subject: [PCBUILD] touchpad

I went to the Toshiba site as
suggested and tried to download a new
driver for my Toshiba laptop running
Windows XP Pro (Satellite A15-S129).
All I can find that is even close even
with a model-specific search is an
A55-S129 model. Can I download and
install that driver instead. My cusor
(which is REALLY a CURSER!) is still
jumping all over the page when I type
and I have to cut and paste all the
time. Please help.
