The main difference between an Ultra card and a SCSI card is in the
format of the hard drives it will accept.  SCSI drives need a SCSI
controller...   Ultra is IDE format, or at least the Promise Ultra33
controller is IDE.   This may in fact be a great solution for you after
reviewing the data on their web site...  it fully supports IDE drives
up to 8.4gigs, (it claims to support even the coming 12gig IDE drives).

I have used Promise cards in the past...  they were always a very good
