I have researched on this model for a couple of months and just ordered one
2 days ago.

1) It's the cheapest 4X write available (bare drive is ~$237 +$13- $20
shipping)
2) They are from grey market and you don't get support from Panasonic.
3) Based on many user responses from Dejanews, it's rocket solid and not
too much support needed.
4) It does digital audio extraction at around 800K/sec (very fast).
5) 1MB cache compared to 2MB cache on Yamaha or Plextor.
6) It's the only one with internal fan. CD writers generate a lot of heat
so most people recommend you to buy an external one. This model may be the
exception since it has a fan built-in.
7) The only bad thing I heard about it was that CDRWin (?) does not support
it in a certain "mode (don't remember now), and the company had no plan to
support it. You can find the exact info by searching "panasonic 7502B" at
www.dejanews.com. Since I don't use this software, it does not matter to me.

There is also a web site that you can download rom update but I cannot find
it off hand.

How much can you get it for?

You won't find bad news in them. If you want speed. According to MacWorld's
test, TEAC is probably faster (maybe ~5-10% faster) than Panasonic.
Panasonic is faster than Yamaha's 4X writer which is very highly rated.
Both drives are at least $100 more expensive than Panasonic.
