I finally got my two computer home network to work. I don't know if I
have it set up best. I'll explain what I tried, and what I have.

Started, both computers, Win98,
Client for Microsoft Networks, Network logon options, Quick logon
Protocol, Microsoft, TCP/IP, Specify an IP Address, 192.168.1.1 & 2,
             255.255.255.0 Subnet Mask
WINS Configuration, Disable WINS Resolution

Both computer icons showed in Network Neighborhood on one computer, not
on other. Which computer showed icons depended on which started first.

Changed IP Address to Obtain an IP address automatically. Same results.

Changed Network logon to Logon and restore network connections. Same
results.

Changed WINS Configuration to Use DHCP for WINS Resolution. Same results.

Added NetBEUI protocol. Same results.

Removed TCP/IP protocol. Worked. No one mentioned having to remove TCP/IP
protocol for NetBEUI to work.

Leave all settings as are? Forget about using TCP/IP protocol for
network?

Ethernet cards are ADMtek AN983B. Before getting NetBEUI to work, for
TCP/IP, tried Microsoft driver, driver came with cards, and driver from
manufacturer's website. Same results.
