I guess time flies when you're having fun.
It's been more than a week or two since the story "broke"

On May 5th, Mercury News reported that
    "National Semi will ABANDON Cyrix production..."
and that over 300 (I can get the exact number if it's important)
people will be laid off.  The next day, the Wall Street Journal
had a similar story.

Neither story sounded like NS was looking for a buyer  ---
although I've heard rumors of IBM increasing their investment
in the joint venture and taking a more active role.
