Certainly  the extra ram will help, I would also make sure that all the temp
files are cleaned out either by running the disk cleanup or manually
deleting files out of the C:\temp (possible) or C:\windows\temp folders.  If
they get too full it can cause problems.  Also make sure you have the latest
and greatest drivers installed for your devices especially video. and keep
all recourses to a minimum.  Anything in the startup that doesn't need to
run should be deleted as well as anything running in the lower right hand
side of the screen, i.e., webshots, messengers, etc...
