Hi,

That should be no problem to do.  Only thing you have to be careful of is
if the board will do the exact CPU you want to put in it.  If it is a newer
board it may handle the 533 bus chips.  It will at least handle the 400 bus
since that is what the celeron 1.7 is.  Currently the fastest 400 mhz PIV
is the 2.4.  The 533 bus started with 2.0 now goes to 3.06g.  In the P4
class there are 2 cache levels available, 256 and 512.  I recommend you
find one with the 512 cache.

So make sure you know what BUS speed the board with go up to, before you
purchase the PIV chip.

It will get more confusing when Intel coemes out with the 800 mhz bus chips
and chipsets in the next few months.
