It requires different laser powers to play the different types of disks,
(among other things.)
The machines must also be in calibration and have the capability
to read the different types of disks.
So yes, it is somewhat common to have problems.
If everything is new and built to do what you want, then it is a problem
that "should" be fixable...              Rick Glazier
