Hi Pete, I am going to guess that your new computer is a DELL. I ran through
this problem at work and with the one I got my wife. For some reason it is not
possible to tack floppies made on our old Compaq and home built computers and
put them in DELL computers and expect them to work. We got the same message.
What I did was get the little jump drives and finally persuade my wife to save
every thing to doc's and then burn them to CD's. If the little jump drives
fail and they do most companies will replace them and recover the lost data free
of charge.
