I just installed a memory upgrade in my 3-yr old Dell computer and a new USB
2.0 card. My system recognizes both and all seems to be running very well.
However, there is a message I saw on the Dell site that says I should Flash
the BIOS after adding the memory.

I got in a chat room with a Dell technician and asked this question, which
never was directly answered, but he sent me a website of Dell's with
instructions on how to do this. I didn't do it, however, as I noticed that the
instructions on that site are for a different system from mine. Instead, I called
and got a Dell technician on the phone and he said that as long as my sytem
is recognizing the new memory and my new USB card, that flashing the BIOS was
not necessary. I am looking for a second opinion here, as this is my first
attempt at ever upgrading a system at home. I can follow instructions, but am
not very knowledgeable about my PC hardware.

Thank you,
Donna Parsons
