Hi Stephen,
Forget about 64 bit and the fastest processor, there are very few drivers  
for 64 bit and fast processors are not where the speed is. 
 Get the best MOBO you can afford and the fastest memory. Add Creative  
Audigy 2ZS or XFI for sound, on board sound is not even close. Get a good video  
card, not the most expensive at least 256 MB. 
 ASUS & MSI are very good and solid boards.
