I have an old 486/66 I would like to upgrade without spending
a lot of money. From various vendors, I have found the following:
Atrend ATC-5030 mobo using the 430TX chipset and 1mb of cache for $60
AMD K6 233 for $74
64meg of 168pin sdram(2 32m dimms) 10 ns for $46
generic S3 virge 4 mb pci video card for $27
I will use my existing hard drive, floppy, sound card,
cd, monitor and case.
This will total up to about $200.
Does this sound like a workable combination?
