Try going in to msconfig and then click on the advanced tab. Then disable
fast shut down. This should take care of it. That was a problem in Win98. MS
used to have a patch for it also but I don't remember the name of it or know
if it is still there. Maybe somebody else can help there. Disabling fast
shut down fixes this problem most of the time. Good luck
