Ron,

The system restore files may be corrupted or have a virus. Try turning off
system restore, reboot, then enable it again. Just be aware that this will
delete all system restore points that you have.

Subject: [PCBUILD] system restore not working

Hello

I am unable to use System Restore - when it is running, the screen goes
blank, then a window informs me that the computer cannot be restored to 14
April 2005 [nor can an earlier month or another restore point be chosen],
and no changes can be made. There is plenty of disc space, so what could be
causing this hang-up and how can system restore be restored?

The computer is a Dell Inspiron 8000 laptop with Win ME. This problem also
occurs in Safe Mode.

Thanks for any insights,

Ron Smith
