Susan:

There is no problem leaving your monitor turned on all the time...but if
you leave your AOL modem connection all nite long, take care with your phone
bill....(I hope that you have a flat line company)

Subject: [PCBUILD] Laptop monitor

| My desktop at home crashed so I had to bring my laptop from work to use
here.
| At work, I had my monitor to shut off after 30 minutes of being idle.
That
| feature worked just fine at work. But here at home, for some reason, that
| feature doesn't work. Will it hurt my laptop for my monitor to be on all
the
| time? I have a second phone line so when I connect to AOL, I just remain
| there until I leave for work the next morning. What does my monitor and
hard
| disk need to be set on for the energy saving feature to kick in after 30
| minutes to an hour of no activity. If it won't hurt laptop to be on all
the
| time, I won't worry about it. But if it will tend to burn out my monitor
| sooner, I need to know what settings to use to fix this problem. Thanks
so
| much in advance.
