Have a CD burner, Memorex 1622 ( 2x2x6), made by Wearnes.  For some reason
it quit detecting CDs or would open the CD to a blank screen.  Use Nero 5
software and have burned more than 100 CD-Rs with no problem.  Tried a
cleaner CD with no change.  Downloaded and installed the latest firmware
with no change.  Tried the burner in another computer with same result.
Another burner I installed works fine in the original computer, so I assume
it is the burner that is the problem.  It acts normal - light flashes on
drive in detect process and then stops as if CD detected, but then gives
error message of not ready.  Any suggestions appreciated.  Edna Sloan
