Just a suggestion, although I suspect you might have tried this already. In
the system configuration utility (msconfig in Win98se) check selective start
up and uncheck everything but System.ini. Then restart and try again. This
will free up resources and won't load a lot of programs. I was directed by a
tech at Microsoft to try this when I had a similar problem. I can't imagine
cluster size being a problem as you are using FAT32.
