Keyboard not picked up by new DFI K6BV3+/Rev. B MB

When I booted up my newly assembled socket7 DFI K6BV3+/66 Rev. B, 2Mb cache with AMD K6-2 cpu and 128Mb PC-100 SDRAM it POSTed fine, found the hard drive and loaded Win98SE without a problem except it did not pickup the keyboard.
I have tried three separate keyboards that work fine on my other computers.
This is the second such board I have exchanged with the retailer with the same problem. Any suggestions? Does the plugin for the keyboard have to touch the computer case? Mine does not.
