Hi all,

On a win 98 machine with 64 megs of ram and 10 gig hard drive, I'm
trying to install a HP 845 USB printer. I have tried this printer on my
office pc and it worked fine. My office pc has pretty much the same
specs as the one it should be fitted too but no joy. It keeps saying
there has been a error with the USB device and just sits there.

I have spent a lot of time clearing out from the device manager and
anywhere else I could think off any past installs of the printer and
then retrying it but to no avail. Personally I am disillusioned with hp
printers as in all the times I have been using them for the most part
they have involved some problem or another.

I haven't yet tried uninstalling the USB devices within device manager
and seeing if reinstalling them makes any difference. I don't like
uninstalling and reinstalling so much that it might cause more problems
than it may solve.

Can anyone make any suggestions here.

Many thanks,

Paul.
