Hi,

Sounds like the Drive died on you.  You will probably need to replace
it.
Just make sure things are set correctly in the Bios.

If you can take the drive out and with an adapter try it on a desktop
machine that would
Confirm the drive condition.

Hi there,

I do have a  note book  DEL Latitude  XPI CD  and  I was  using  it  for
 thelast  3 years without any problems. Since  last week it shows   and
error  Primary Hard disk controller  failure 1. It uses  an IBM HDD
3080 MB  and
 P/N00K0391.
 Can any one  please  suggest me   what  could be done  to solve this
problem.
