Hi,

This is a new Rambus memory board. Rambus memory slots must be all filled.
Did you place the 2 blank Rimms that (were suppose to) come with the board
into the other 2 rimm sockets so all 4 sockets are populated?

You did not mention connecting the additional power connector that looks
like the one of the old AT power connector over by the RIMM sockets.
Unless there is a change in this board, the older 850 chipset boards needed
that plugged in to help power the rimms.

Also, check that the power supply is set for the correct voltage, 115 for
USA.

Also, since this is a new P4 board (socket N) if you got a P4 ready case
that supports the old socket W chips, you do not need to place the
additional 4 stand offs in the case that were used to hold the P4 socket W
heatsink/fan in place. Doing so may actually short out the main board.

If this was a retail boxed board you got a printed manual. If this was an
OEM board you did not get a printed manual, but in the mainboard CD is the
board manual in .PDF format. You may want to print it out and check it
over if you have not done that yet.

Also, when you do get the board up and running, make sure that you run the
mainboard .INF files as the very next install after installing your OS.
Then after that is installed, you can install the rest of the files on the
main board cd that you want to use and then run the VGA driver CD.

Proper order of file installation can make up to an 80% difference in
graphic performance on the P4. If your running Win2K or XP you will not
want to install the main board ATA drivers as these OS's have ones that
work fine and doing so may corrupt the OS.

If the above is all set and you still have a problem, e-mail me off list,
and I'll give you a toll free number (US) tech support number to call for
additional help.

God Bless America!
