Looking to upgrade the 256 MB 184 pin DDR RAM in an older desktop MB to 1GB. Lots of used ECC memory out there pulled from servers for half the price of new non-ECC memory. My question is will ECC work in a desktop MB and what are the advantages/disadvanteges of using ECC. Have heard it is slower because it checks for lost bits befor processing the data.

The NOSPIN Group Promotions is now offering
our special coffee mugs and mouse pads
with the PCBUILD logo... at a great price!!!
