Check your software, once you have the speed correct you should be able to
turn off the test mode, this should make burning faster.

If you have the test mode on, your cdrw drive will test the track then
write the track, so it would take twice as long.  However I think writing
at 4x should not take no two hours as I have burned at 2x and it takes only
around 40 minutes give or take a few.
