Thanks to everyone who replied to my post. The drive is a Liteon CD/RW that
came with the Nero Burning Rom, but I don't recall seeing anything about B's
CLiP when I installed it.

I've had nothing but trouble with Nero on this computer at work and on mine
at home. I've had to re-install it about half-a-dozen times because the InCD
packet writing software stops working and doesn't recognize the CD/RW disc.
It ruined 2 CD/RW discs to the point that I can't even re-format them...they
just lock up the computer every time I put them in the drive. The light
blinks for several minutes like it's trying to read the disc but it never
does, and I end up having to reboot the computer to get the disc out of the
drive. This happens on 2 different systems, one running Win98SE and one
running XP Pro. On the XP system, after I installed the Nero software, the
computer wouldn't shut down. It just kept rebooting back into Windows. I've
uninstalled Nero and bought Roxio's EZCD Creator 5 and installed all the
patches and updates and it's worked flawlessly. I'd always heard how great
Nero was and how horrible EZCD was, but my experience is just the opposite.

By the way, if anyone knows of a good scandisk program for CD's, I'd
appreciate it. Maybe one that works in DOS? I have files on those two CD/RW
discs that I'd like to get to. I can't get the scandisk program that came
with EZCD to work on those discs because the drive light blinks trying to
access it, as I said earlier.

Thanks again,

Dennis Thiel
