I got to school this morning to discover that our DHCP server was down. It's
an NT 4 machine, ASUS MB, PII 300, onboard SCSI controlling 2 Quantum Viking
4GB SCSI drives. One of our technicians came by and 'tapped' the boot drive
(there's a name for this, sticktion?) which then started up, but the second
drive is still not working (odd, that both drives should go at once?). The
SCSI utility reports the dead drive as having a problem with its sensor.
Does anyone know of a way to get this drive readable again, even to if just
to recover the data that was on it? thanks.
