That "specific" scenerio was on both of the Microsoft 620 and 622 exams...  The "correct" solution is (according to Microsoft) to turn off automatically connect on all wireless networks but the one you want to stay connected to. I have had dropout like you describe many times in places where there are lots of wireless connections available. The Microsoft suggested solution has always worked for me....
