I am trying to connect the second USB connector on my motherboard with the
USB ports on the front of a new case. I am not sure of the correct pin
connections because the mb manual and case connectors are labeled
differently.

motherboard connector (2 rows of 4/5 pins)
        missing Ground
        SBD3- SBD3+
        SVCC1 SVCC1
        SBD2- SBD2+
        SGND1 SGND1

case USB cables (two 4 pin connectors with separate 5th pin for ground):
        VCC VCC (Red)
        USB2- USB1- (White)
        USB2+ USB1+ (Green)
        GND GND (Black)

        gnd gnd (Black)

Comparing the two, it seems that the motherboard has both negative
connections on one side and both positive connections on the other. The case
cables seem to have a positive and negative on each connection.

This is how I think they should be connected:

        missing Ground black --
                                        extra 5th pin ground
                                        from case cable (either connector)
        SBD3- SBD3+ white (1st connector) green (2nd connector)
        SVCC1 SVCC1 red (1st connector) red (2nd connector)
        SBD2- SBD2+ white (2nd connector) green (1st connector)
        SGND1 SGND1 black (1st connector) black (2nd connector)

I would like another pair of eyes to look at my interpretation of the
connections. It seems strange to cross the pins between the two connectors,
but that was the only way I could make sense of the two sets of information.

Thanks for you input,

Jim
