When I enabled TCP/IP protocol in Network, Configuration, Win98, TCP/IP
Dial-Up Adapter also enabled. File and printer sharing for Microsoft
Networks, Bindings, TCP/IP Dial-Up Adapter, was not checked. This was
checked in TCP/IP protocol. Checking binding in TCP/IP Dial-Up Adapter
made TCP/IP network work. However, MS dialog box "highly recommended"
disabling dial-up TCP/IP binding for security.

Is there a way to enable dial-up binding, but block sharing by Internet,
which I would not use? I do not understand Dave Gillett's no. 1. Also,
with TCP/IP, whichever computer starts second takes five minutes to bring
up icons in Network Neighborhood. Going one step higher in Network
Neighborhood takes another five minutes. Is there a fix for this
slowness? If can resolve TCP/IP security, is it better to use TCP/IP
instead of NetBEUI, even with this slowness?
