I just put together a new computer and after installing Windows 95, it gets to the part where it says"staring windows for the first time."
At that point I get a "windows protection error.  can't initialize IOS."
What would cause this?  I have the following:

Soltek motherboard
AMD K6/3-400 CPU
PC100 SDRAM (64meg
S3 Savage4 32-meg AGP video card
Quantum Fireball 3.1 gig HD

I do have a sound card sitting in a PCI slot.

I'm not sure if this should be on PCBUILD or PCSOFT.
