       Most decent cd-r and cd-rw' s come with software to do this. Adaptec's
software comes with Acer Models, and CD right! comes in Hi Val models. they are
all capable of "recording on the fly" from a plugged in source at the soundcard.

       I have not tried it personally, but it is discussed in the owner's
manuals of both of these machines, as well as having specific software "clicks"
on both systems.
       You can also buy the Adaptec software seperately, a more complete
version.
