Hi,

I honestly do not know. I believe it is used by the OS for some info
storage in needs. I'm sure someone with
more NTFS experience than I, can enlighten both of us.

I just see it happen when I install win2k or XP and use NTFS.

Thanks and have a Great Day!

What is the 8 Megs for, and what happens if you use something like Acronis
PartitionExpert(2003) to partition a drive and it does not know it is for
Win-XP, just that it is "scheduled" to be NTFS?
