Thanks! I forgot that it saves vs prints.
I discovered that Word and WordPad also receive the copied page image - which can be enlarged with ctrl-scrollwheel. 
But Paint allows manipulation of the image.

Hi,
  When you hit the printscreen key, it saves a copy of the screen to  the 
clipboard (in internal RAM memory). Next open Paint, a basic graphics  program 
that comes with windows, and click on Edit, then Paste (or hit CTRL-V).  This 
will load the contents of the clipboard into Paint, where you can see it  and 
edit it, if necessary. Then click File, and Print (or hit CTRL-P),  and choose 
your printer, to print it. You can also click File and Save As,  and give it a 
filename if you wish to save it.
