Your PC probably was not designed to run XP.

XP requires considerable processor power of 1 or 2
GHZ.

Also RAM shold be at least 256 MB.

XP home requires registration within a specified time.
Don't like home edition. I use XP Pro.

Win 98SE is the best Windows ever. However, you must
know what you are doing to install it. Any fool can
run an XP CD!

Back to your problem:

You probably have stuff running at startup.

start >run >msconfig >selective startup >Uncheck load
startup group

Also you may disable some non windows servioces
running:

start >run >msconfig >services >hide windows services

btw How did u install XP? Did U format the HD first
or install it on top of millenium?

Chris
