Could someone pls. enlighten me?
What would cause a "BIOS ROM checksum Error"
message to be displayed on boot up of
MOBO : MB-8433UUD (Has a DALLAS Modium battery)
486 Am5x86-P75(X5-133), 32Mb ext mem? (Award BIOS)
Will boot from DOS 6.2 floppy, cannot get it to
recognize hard drive. Will not POST.

Tried getting into CMOS set up by pressing DEL but
system goes on to recognize installed 1.44 floppy
and requests system disk to be introduced and to
press Enter. It never concedes access to CMOS setup!
Checked out mem sticks in alternate system & OK!
Removed video card & got appropriate beeps!

Is this an indication that MOBO is kaput? TIA
