Hello all,
    Unpon receipt of a new IBM Deskstar 8.4, the installation info requires
you to set the drive (by jumper selection) to either 15 or 16 heads AS
REQUIRED BY YOUR SYSTEM.

The system manual or mainboard manual  does not mention anything about this.
Does anyone know how to determine the setting?

The CMOS does correctly identify the drive.
