AdAware and Spybot are not spyware, to my knowledge.  I have been using them for over a year without issues.

  Not to promote Komando's site/show, but I rely upon her reccomendations.

  I also rely on the ZoneAlarm firewall, again recommended by her site.

I think I have formatted the HD as FAT, I'll check that.
About the "adware" and "spybot" - I once heard that these programs are spies themselves.  Isn't that true ?
