I'd say maybe vernon only wants to ADD to some complicated set-up
they already have. Say like maybe a sub-net with the Wireless there.

My modem is separate, so is a router, and a switch. I want to add
a wireless modem/router. (I obviously don't need the first OR second
modem, but don't want to have to switch things around too much...)

The only thing is, vernon did not say if they wanted everything to talk
to everything and/or if printer sharing (etc.) was involved.

PLUS, maybe they are a little cautious about ripping out the only modem
they have before getting instructions about replacing it properly with something else.
(And I notice I did not say "how" either...)
