Marilyn,
I may be asking a dumb question here, but is there a CD in the drive when
you attempt to access it? If not, you will get that message. Also, as Bob
Wright points out in another posting, if you do have a disk in it, then
either the drive is bad or needs cleaning.

On Behalf Of William Wilson
My CD-Rom is my D: drive. I'm running Windows 98 and Windows Explorer
shows a D: drive. However when I click on it, a message comes up saying
"D: is not accessible. This device is not ready." Under CD-Rom in device
manager, there is no yellow exclamation mark, it says 32x Max Atapi CD-Rom.
It also says "This device is working properly." and "No driver files
required." Is there anything else I can check or is my CD-Rom broken?

Thank you for any and all suggestions.

Marilyn Wilson
