Dear Listees:  I need some clarification on something that was recently explained to me but that I didn't catch very clearly.  I have been having some problems on a system (AMD K-6 2 400 MHz, ASUS P5A-B mobo, 64 MB PC 100 SDRAM, ATI Rage 3D AGP, AWE 64 SB, Amquest 56K Modem) I've rebuilt that seems to be memory related.  In discussing the problems with another technician, he explained that the dual voltage CPU (2.2 core, 3.3 I/O) could be setup as a single voltage CPU by setting the jumpers to 2.9 core.  He felt that doing this could clear up some errors and that the problem may be with the way the CPU was handling input/output.  I'd never heard of this before.  Can someone explain to me if this is right or wrong and why?  I don't think I misunderstood what he was saying, I just don't understand how incorrectly setting core voltage can SOLVE problems.  Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
