For anyone to use your Internet connection with a wireless adapter, you 
would have to be set up to use wireless connections. In which case you 
can enable WEP on your LAN and dissuade most interlopers from even 
trying to use your Internet connection.

There was/is another discussion on the same subject (different specific 
title) on this forum at the present time. You might be interested in it.
