I just took a look at www.tigerdirect.com and www.newegg.com and it
appears to me that both well respected retailers have a number of
motherboards that meet your requirements. Newegg was easier to search,
so you might want to start there. I went to motherboards/intel/$50 to $75.

A there were a number of motherboards, you should have enough to make a
decision.

A single IDE connector will normally handle two IDE devices. However, I
did see motherboards with 2 IDE connectors, a floppy connector, and at
least 2 SATA connectors.

I hope this helps.

My old machine died and I want to upgrade the CPU and memory but still use some of my IDE peripherals. I have found some Intel and Gigabyte boards that have built-in VGA but only one IDE interface. That may work if one could connect both the HD and DVD to one ribbon connector in a master/slave relationship. I don't know if that can be done. Does anyone know of a board that meets my needs at +/- $75?
