Hi everyone,

Thanks to everyone for their suggestions on the problem I was having getting a CD "burned" properly. All the help files with the software were of no help (HP MyCD). Adaptec Easy Creator help files didn't have the answer either. But, the clue about having a fast hard disk gave me a clue. My hard drive is only a year old, so I knew it was fast enough. But, I began to wonder about the Bus Mastering controller. I've suspected something odd about it the past couple of years (strange CD-ROM drive behavior). The motherboard is a Soltek 54U5 with VIA MVP3 chipset. I was using the drivers from Soltek for my Windows 95 OS. I installed Windows 98. It already includes the VIA controllers. Everything was fine. Then, I used the updated drivers from Soltek and the problem of not burning a CD began again. I removed the controller from Device Manager, rebooted and let 98 load its own. Everything is fine again.
