I just purchased the AMD K6-III 450 and it looks as if I will need to
replace my motherboard. I currently have the FIC VA-503+ . . . the older
revision that apparently doesn't support the K6-III . . . first question . .
. why not if the clock/multiplier settings will adjust to 450mhz? I
currently run a K6-II 300 with pc100 ram. I don't want to buy the new
revision VA-503+ because to the lack of pci slots . . . 3 just doesn't cut
it. I have had no problem with the board and would go with the new 503+ if
it weren't for that fact. It must also be an AT and not ATX (don't want to
change cases) :-). A couple that i have considered is the Tyan S1590S
Trinity 100 AT and the DFI P5BV 3+. Any thoughts and opinions would be
helpful. I have been using boards with the VIA chipset . . . not sure what
to make of the ALI chipset . . . thoughts?

Thanks,
LaMont Bankes
