Hi,

I have a computer that is slow when playing games, but with digital audio,
the performance is OK.  I changed the cd Rom player, reinstalled the games,
tried different games, connected the IDE drives on the ATA 100, installed
the Promise ATA drivers. I tried connecting the CD Rom player on a ide port
by itself in master mode, but the problem still persist.

The computer motherboard ia a Asus A7V.  The hard disk is a 15 Gb 7200 RPM
drive.

Here are the symtoms: when playing the game, the audio is heard before any
actions.  Furthermore, the image freezes temporarily for a few seconds and
them starts back. On and on...

What could be the problem?
