there are several ways of doing this BUT DO YOU REALLY APPRECIATE THE SHORT/LONG TERM IMPLICATIONS ON O/S  SYSTEM STABILITY BY DOING SUCH TWEAKS TO THE O/S WHICH INVOLVES MANIPULATING THE "SHELL" OR USING THIRD PARTY HACKING UTILITIES?
