It sounds like there is a hardware conflict or a bad hardware device.  I
would start by stripping out everything but the essential components (video,
HD & FD controller).  Everything else goes.  If that doesn't correct the
problem then I swap the video card.  Still bad - swap the Motherboard.  Not
much left
