My mom, bless her near-sighted heart, got me some banana chips.
I looked at the lable to be sure they were ok. I saw that they were
fried in coconut oil, but I didn't think that would be TOO bad. I didn't
read close enough. Sugar was the second ingredient.
I ate four chips before I saw this. I imidiatly but the bag away
and went carnivore until lunch today.
The question is, how long does it take for effects to be
noticible on a ketostix test? Mine showed 80 (second highest color) so I
figured it was OK to start munching again.
Another question is, now that I am pllying for jobs this summer,
what's the best way to explain to the doctor giving me the physical that I
-want- to in high ketosis and that ketosis is a sign that body fats are
being metabolized? Arguing from evolution only works if you want to
explain the WHOLE diet. Maybe I should check out Atkin's book and
memorize his argument for ketogenic dieting. I wish I had started 3
month's earlier, then I could report "If ketosis is what caused the loss
of 50 lbs in three months, then there is no way in hell I'm going to stop."
